Contact + About

Contact me, I’d love to hear from you! No, seriously, I welcome all questions, comments and commendation. Email me at info [at] parlancellc [dot] com.

Prefer forms to email? That’s ok too. I respond to emails and messages from the contact form within 1 business day. Unless you use the form to send me unsolicited sales info. Then I probably won’t respond.

I was a G+ early adopter. Circle me here. I also have a G+ business page .

I don’t use LinkedIn as much as the others. It’s a bit buttoned up for my taste. I do post to the groups fairly regularly. Click the button if a more buttoned up approach is you thing Parlance Media LLC on LinkedIn

You can also use the phone to contact me, but its not the preferred method of contract. I can be reached at 617-903-7172. If you happen to be in the Greater Boston area, I’d love to connect in person.

I get a lot of questions about my business name. Jargon is generally considered a no-no in copywriting circles. Using industry parlance isn’t about jargon. It’s about speaking in the language of your audience.

I built my business on strong beliefs:

  • Great copy is the first step in a great relationship.
  • I believe in the power of words.
  • I believe in win-win situations. Success is not a zero sum game.
  • I believe in partnerships and collaboration. Let’s work together and make great things happen.
  • I believe in respect: respect for my client, respect for my tools, respect for time and respect for myself.
  • I believe there are many kinds of intelligence.
  • I do what I’m great at so you can do more of what you love.
I bring these beliefs to every client interaction.

I’ve always been creative and wordy. I’ve been writing since I was a kid. I wrote my first (and last)  novel at age 9. Lucky for you I decided novels weren’t my thing.  I preferred talking circles around my parents. I could have been a lawyer, but who wants a punchline for a job? In college I studied  fine and performing arts. My friends were all visual artists, musicians and theatre technicians.

For years I thought I was marketing victim. Then I studied the tricks behind it. Now I use those powers for good.

I love things that have been built. I’ve always loved to touch things and feel their weight. I have to walk through museums with my hands in my  pockets so I don’t get thrown out. As a result, I specialize in working with people who aren’t word-y. I work with skilled, talented people to help them write their marketing messages. It’s a lot more fun than novels or the law.

When I’m not playing with words, I’m skiing, sailing or reading on the beach. I read a lot. I cook a fair bit too. When I can get a way with it, I indulge in my fascination with wine. I’m interested in metaphysics and spirituality. I blog about that at my other site: Deanna Lohnes dot com. If that kind of thing interests you, check it out.

Whatever your interests, use the contact info to say Hi. I’d love to get to know you.
